We asked to Pamela and Andrea, a make-up artist duo who share the same vision and passion for making women look good, feel beautiful and above all true to themselves. Their philosophy is that makeup should not be a disguise but a way of enhancing our natural beauty and confidence.

“We have been running our makeup and hair company for over 6 years now and we still love it as much as did when we first started in 2013.
Working on real weddings is our biggest passion, it feels so special to be a part of the getting ready process on a brides big day. We are there to make the bride look and feel her absolute best and its hugely rewarding when a bride looks in the mirror and feels great about herself! We are also lucky enough to also be involved in shoots and catwalk shows within the bridal industry, we absolutely love working with other industry professionals and feel its a rare opportunity to be part of such a supportive community”

Why should you book a makeup artist for your wedding day?

To put it simply – a makeup artist can take away that added bit of stress that you don’t need on your big day. We often find when our brides are having their makeup applied it is a peaceful timeout for them and can be a welcome dose of calm. Your makeup artist will be experienced in making you look great and feel confident on and off camera and will also be using tried and tested, long lasting waterproof products. We are not only the bride’s personal make up artists but a helping hand on the day (and sometimes a shoulder to cry on!)

What is the perfect bridal look?

There is no such thing as a single, perfect bridal look. The most important thing is that the bride feels comfortable and confident, so the perfect look is different for everyone. If you are considering booking a makeup artist for the big day a trial run is a must. It gives you the opportunity to try out different looks and refine one you like until its perfect.

Trial tips: We always ask brides to wear a similar coloured top to their wedding dress for the makeup trial run. If you are wearing a dark top for the trial but not on the day this can really change overall look. Take plenty of pictures during the trial as you will need to look great both off and on camera, also don’t forget to ask your family and friends for a second opinion.
We tend to advise against trends as if you opt for one, you run the risk of it appearing dated when looking back at your photos in years to come. So unless you’re a real fashionista and looking to capture a trend at the time of you’re wedding, we would suggest staying clear.
A bride’s make up should enhance her natural beauty, style and personality. We suggest keeping it clean, fresh, timeless and elegant.

Skin prep tips

You’ve probably heard this over and over again but it really works! Drink 3 litres of water a day for at least 2 weeks before your wedding and you will notice a vast improvement. Skin will glow from within and you will also see a big difference to the appearance of fine lines and pores. Giving yourself a facial massage a couple of evenings a week is also a great idea. It’s a lot cheaper than going for a facial, easy, relaxing and you’ll see the benefits relatively quickly . Facial massage tones your facial muscles, tightens your skin and reduces puffiness. You can find some fantastic techniques on Youtube.

A few of our must have bridal products

The Armani Luminous Silk foundation is great because it creates a natural skin-like finish but still gives you a flawless complexion. It keeps away shine without looking matt and always looks great on camera.
All brides need to glow on their wedding day and we couldn’t live without our Becca Cosmetics shimmering skin perfectors in Pearl and Opal, these give the most natural and flattering radiance to all skin types.
Our last must have product is Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, this will ensure your makeup is looking picture perfect until the very last dance.

Quick Tips

Carry cotton buds, these are perfect for catching tears and won’t smudge your makeup like a tissue.
Blotting papers are a quick and easy way to take off any excess shine and keep your makeup looking perfect for longer. They can easily fit into your hand bag and are much easier to use than a powder.
